Stokes apologized for breaking the record

England beat New Zealand by 181 runs in the third match of the ODI series on Thursday (September 14). Batting first they were all out for 368 runs after batting 48.1 overs. In reply, New Zealand were bowled out for 187 with 13 overs remaining.

The main hero of this English victory was the 32-year-old Stokes. Played an explosive innings of 182 runs. The New Zealand bowlers were helpless in front of him.

England's individual highest innings was owned by Jason Roy. He scored 180 against Australia in Melbourne in January 2019.

The all-rounder apologized to his team mates after getting out in a personal best run. After the match he said, 'Coming back to the team after a break, it's a really great comeback. And help the team. I have apologized to him for breaking his (Jason Roy's) record.'

He also said, 'I feel very good, Test matches are a bit long but ODIs are definitely demanding.'
