From Chandan to Saffron Terrorist Chinmoy

The name given by his parents is Chandan Kumar Dhar. After joining the extremist religious organization ISKCON, Chinmoy Kumar Das Brahmachari went to the forest. Devotees call him Chinmoy Prabhu. He is the son of the late Master Ashutosh Dhar, an Awami League leader of Karayanagar area number 16 of Satkania Sadar Union in Chittagong, and Sandhya Rani Dhar. He was born after his elder brother Ranjan Kumar Dhar, middle brother Anjan Kumar Dhar and sister Runa Dhar. In 1985, Ashutosh Dhar died of a stroke due to the crowd while attending an Awami League rally at Laldighi ground in Chittagong. Chinmoy was born on the same day at Dulahazara Malumghat Memorial Christian Hospital in Cox's Bazar. Chandan was known as an orphan by the people of the village as his father died at the time of birth. He migrated from Satkania to Chittagong with his family in 1998 while studying in the eighth grade. While he was involved with the Chhatra League in the port city, he suddenly learned one day that he had become a monk. His next destination was the controversial ISKCON. Due to his radical activities in the saffron garb, he was soon appointed as the organizing secretary of ISKCON. Although he was the number three leader of the organization in terms of paper and pen, in practice he had full control of ISKCON.

A plot to destabilize Bangladesh

After the fall of fascist Sheikh Hasina in the July Revolution, Delhi drew up a blueprint to destabilize Bangladesh and restore fascist rule, of which this ISKCON leader is serving as one of the commanders. Outside ISKCON, Chinmoy opened another organization called Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jote to mislead the general minority community and bring it to the field. This so-called alliance was launched on November 17 through a press conference at the Pravartak Mandir in Chittagong, known as the regional headquarters of ISKCON. A government intelligence agency says that the new alliance was formed by the Indian extremist Hindutva organization RSS along with several other small pro-India organizations, coordinated by Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, the former education minister of the ousted government who is in exile in India. The so-called religious guru Chinmoy alias Chandan was active in their plan to make the interim government a failure. To that end, he incited the people of the Hindu community by organizing at least 15 large rallies in the three months immediately after the fall of the government. Most of these rallies were held in areas known as Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury's strongholds from Jamalkhan to Laldighi in Chittagong. Leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliates dressed in saffron participated in these rallies. In addition to giving various kinds of provocations to the crowd in these programs, they staged dramas and made videos of them and sent them to the Hindutva media in India. A team led by two journalists, a freelance photojournalist and two advocates is engaged in recording and sending these videos. Among them are journalists Biplob Partha and Purabi Das, advocate Shubhashis Sharma, Leela Raj Gaur Das and freelance photographer Gaurang Das. After the fall of fascism, their main objective is to prevent communal riots. Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary Azam Nasir Uddin, former Chittagong City Corporation councilor Shaibal Das Suman, Jaharlal Hazari and banned Chhatra League armed cadre Nurul Azim Roni are the main ones responsible for preventing this communal violence.

When contacted for comment on this matter, Purabi Das denied any involvement with ISKCON and said that he has been staying in India with his family for a long time. He does not know anything about Bangladesh. He requested that a thorough investigation be conducted if he gets any information about him. Biplob Partha claims to be a former Chhatra Dal leader and an active leader of the pro-BNP Professional Council. He denied any relationship with ISKCON or Chinmoy Das. However, he said that a person named Sumon Chowdhury sent ISKCON videos and pictures to different places.

ISKCON's main target is Chittagong

After the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government seized power in 2008 with the help of the 1/11 military ruler, ISKCON's activities began on a large scale in Bangladesh. ISKCON established 14 temples in this area alone, including taking over some old temples for the convenience of its work. These temples are used as ISKCON offices. In the name of religious propaganda, the work of brainwashing minorities is carried out. In particular, the work of recruiting members is targeting Hindu community officials working in various government and private offices. An intelligence agency has collected a list of 50 ISKCON members in Chittagong port alone.

Security analyst Major General (Retd.) ALM Fazlur Rahman said that increasing the influence of a particular organization in government offices means a process of pressuring the government to achieve its own interests under any circumstances. He said that ISKCON's activities are centered in Chittagong and Rangpur. Nathan Bam, the main leader of the terrorist organization KNF in Bandarban, is also receiving shelter and weapons from India. If Chittagong and Bandarban are controlled, India will establish direct contact with Mizoram. On the other hand, if Rangpur is controlled, their contact with Chicken Neck will be easier. ISKCON has basically entered the field with this target. The organization has also bought a large amount of land in these two places, which this security analyst believes is part of their long-term plan.

However, intelligence sources say that this Indian plan has been thwarted with the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government. And therefore, Chittagong has been targeted as part of Plan B. Because at least 54,000 people of traditional communities live around the Naufel constituency, the heart of Chittagong city, Among them, ISKCON has a strong position in Jamal Khan, Bandel Colony, Andarkillah, and Kotwali areas. That is why after the fall of the government, they chose Chittagong as a key point to create unrest. The incident of calling the workers of an Islamic cultural organization and putting them on stage to perform Islamic songs during the last Durga Puja was also a trick of Dhurandhar ISKCON.

Support for India in killings on the border

This extremist religious leader, Chandan Dhar alias Chinmoy Das, was criticized for publicly standing in favor of India in the incident of Bangladeshis being killed by the BSF after the national flag was desecrated in the program of Chinmoy Das's so-called Sanatan Jagrani Jote. Regarding the recent killing of Bangladeshi teenagers Swarna Das and Jayant Kumar Singh in BSF firing, he said, "Two Hindus have died on the border, for this they are showing pity. They are shouting slogans against India. So, I want to say, why did they go to the border? Find out first.’

Child rape allegations against Chinmoy

Controversial ISKCON leader Chinmoy Das has been accused of raping and molesting at least 10 children. All the children who were abused are residents of the Hathazari Pundarikdham temple. Chinmoy Das is the principal of this temple. Chinmoy used to take the children to his house at night and rape them using various techniques. In September 2023, ISKCON filed a written complaint of abuse against four children Chinmoy Das with the International Child Protection Office (CPT) in the UK. After the investigation found the allegations true, on October 6 of that year, the CPT issued a ban in five categories, including not keeping Chinmoy in a leading position in ISKCON and refraining from contact with children and women, which is still in force.

Acid thrown at army personnel in Hazarigali on Chinmoy's orders

On November 6, a Muslim shopkeeper in Hazarigali, Chittagong, posted on Facebook criticizing various activities of ISKCON. As a result, ISKCON members attacked and vandalized the shop. Police and army members arrived there to bring the situation under control. They also discussed the situation with Chinmoy on mobile phones. But ISKCON supporters attacked the law enforcement agencies. At one stage, glass bottles and acid were thrown at the police and army members. Five soldiers and 9 police members were burned by the acid thrown by ISKCON supporters.

Lawyer Saiful Islam Alif killed on Chinmoy's orders

On November 26, a follower of Chinmoy Krishna Das, an activist of the banned organization Chhatra League, and a lawyer and clerk supporting ISKCON were involved in the murder of government lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in the Chittagong court area. A group of 10-15 people attacked the lawyer and brutally killed him. Earlier, the police arrested Chinmoy in a sedition case. When the court ordered him to be sent to prison, ISKCON supporters blocked the prison van and started protesting. During this, Chinmoy snatched the police's hand microphone and made provocative speeches from inside the prison van in an unprecedented move. Immediately after this, ISKCON supporters went on a rampage in the court area. When the police stopped the police, a clash broke out. During this, ISKCON terrorists chased the state's lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in the alley of the Rangam Community Center below the court hill and brutally hacked and beat him to death.

The police have identified 12 people directly involved in this sensational murder. Four of them have been arrested. They told the police that his followers had planned to engage in a clash in the Chittagong court building and beat up the judge to demand Chinmoy Das' release. But the state's lawyers showed extreme patience, so a mission was taken to kill the lawyer. And the financial support for the implementation of this plan was provided by an ISKCON leader named Arvind Dhar Basu from Katapahar area of Hazarigali.

ISKCON's powerful network in the administration

Although there are serious allegations of child rape, land grabbing and even inciting the murder of lawyers, Chinmoy Das's name is not mentioned in a single case. Because ISKCON has built a powerful network in the administration during Sheikh Hasina's 16-year rule. There is no sector in the country where ISKCON members do not exist. It is alleged that information has been smuggled to India through them for a long time. In the meantime, the country's intelligence agencies have kept a special eye on them by keeping a list. A list of ISKCON members has been found from an organization. The list includes former Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner Krishna Pad Roy, PBI DIG Banaj Kumar Majumder, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar, Metropolitan Jubo League Vice President Debashish Pal Debu, Chittagong Port CBA leader Ashish Kanti Muhuri, Port Mechanical Department officer Sanchay Kumar De, Bishwajit Dev, Shajeeb Sharma, Hridoy Kumar Das (General Secretary of Chhatra League Lions Sangha), Ratan Kumar Das (Chittagong Port Businessman), Sourav Shah (Chittagong Port Businessman), Ashok Kumar Das (Chittagong Port Businessman), Port Officer Nayan Mani, Himel Barua, Suman Das, Apurba Kumar Chakraborty, Kishore Kanti Das and Parnab Das (General Secretary of ISKCON of Bandar Police Station).

Chinmoy's lawyer went to India to spread anti-state propaganda

Chinmoy Das' lawyer is Rabindra Ghosh. Although other members of his family lived in India, he used to live in Bangladesh. However, he is currently in India on a medical visa. Sitting there, he is spreading propaganda against the current government and inciting hatred against Muslims to implement the agenda of the fallen Sheikh Hasina under the orders of Chinmoy. An intelligence agency says that Rabindra Ghosh had contacts with the Indian extremist Hindutva organization RSS. Based on such information, several Bangladeshi agencies have started monitoring him.
