Today is the twelfth national parliament election

Photo: Collected. The 12th National Assembly election is going to be held today on Sunday. Polling will be held continuously from 8 am to 4 pm. Election equipment has reached the center. The ballot papers of the centers in remote areas also reached their centers last night. Ballots for the remaining centers arrived early this morning. Polling will be held today in 299 out of 300 parliamentary constituencies. Elections in the Naogaon-2 constituency have been stopped due to the death of a candidate. Although the victory of the ruling Awami League is already confirmed in this election, there is no shortage of anxiety across the country.

Among the 44 registered political parties, 16 parties, including the BNP, are boycotting the elections. There were incidents of arson in polling stations at several places. Like-minded parties including BNP-Jamaat have called a strike to stop the polls. People lost their lives in the bus-train fire. Several vehicles and structures were gutted in 14 fires from Friday night to Saturday evening. Among them are some polling stations. All in all, panic in the public mind.
