The government has promoted 31 lower court judges. Among them, six Additional District Judges have been promoted to District Judges, 23 Joint District Judges have been promoted to Additional District Judges and two Senior Assistant Judges have been promoted to Joint District Judges.
A notification has been issued by the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs regarding their promotion on Sunday.
The notification informed that the judges of the judicial service have been promoted in consultation with the Supreme Court.
According to the notification, the promoted District Judges have been directed to join the post of promotion immediately on September 11 by handing over the charge of the present post to the designated officer of District and Sessions Judge/Metropolitan Sessions Judge. This promotion will be effective from the date of joining.
The promoted Additional District Judges have been directed to join the promoted post with immediate effect on September 12th by deputing the present post to the designated officer of the District and Sessions Judge/Judicial Magistrate/Metropolitan Magistrate/Head of Office. Promotion will be effective from the date of joining.
Besides, the two judges who have been promoted to the post of Joint District Judge have been directed to join the post of promotion immediately after handing over the duties of the present post to the designated officer of the District and Sessions Judge/Chief Judicial Magistrate on September 10. Promotion will be effective from the date of joining.
