Bangladesh lags behind Afghanistan in media freedom

Photo: Collected. Bangladesh lags behind Afghanistan and Pakistan in the media freedom index. Bangladesh is ranked 163rd among 180 countries. The report of Reporters Without Borders, a French-based organization working on media freedom around the world, revealed this information.

In the Reporters Without Borders list, Bhutan is 90th among South Asian countries, Nepal 95th, Maldives 100th, Sri Lanka 135th, Pakistan 150th, Afghanistan 152nd and India's position is 161st. This year, as always, Norway tops the World Free Media Index. Ireland is in second place and Denmark in third. The United States ranks 45th in this index. China and North Korea are at the bottom at 179 and 180. Last year Bangladesh was ranked 162nd.
