We have no objection if the constitution is changed: Noor

President of Public Rights Council Nurul Haque Noor said, "Constitutions were changed in different countries after the revolution. The constitution of Bangladesh could not protect the fundamental rights of people, so we have no objection if the constitution is changed.

He said these things at a discussion meeting titled 'Role of Lawyers in State Reform' organized by Bangladesh Lawyers' Rights Council, a fraternal organization of the People's Rights Council, at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club on Saturday afternoon. The new committee of Lawyers Rights Council was announced in the meeting.

Nurul Haque Noor said, "There should be rules regarding the appointment of judges in the high court. Courts should not be subordinated to the Ministry of Law. What we say about the complete independence of the judiciary must be ensured. Independent people should be appointed as public prosecutors in the district.

In the 53 years of independence, we have had the opportunity to rebuild Bangladesh, now it is time to reform the country. People of the country have given their lives at different times but the quality of the country has not changed. This nation will not give life again and again, so we have to use the time now.'

Noor said, "In 2018, we did the quota movement, if we wanted, we could enter the job. When we saw that there is no benefit in reforming the quota, who will reform the hundreds of such irregularities in the holes of the state? There is no such leadership in front of the nation. That's why we came out of the streets and formed a political party. Within one year of party declaration, I got the registration by fulfilling all the conditions of Election Commission. We took the initiative and succeeded today.

He said, 'Young, honest and talented people should come forward in politics. It is not possible to rebuild Bangladesh without new leadership. Those who have not been able to do it in 53 years, people have doubts about whether they will be able to do it in the future. I will tell the newly formed lawyers' rights council, you will go to the grassroots level. The main task of the Lawyers' Rights Council will be to ensure justice.

At that time, Advocate Golam Sawar Jewel was convener and Advocate Sarkar Nur Ershad Siddiqui was announced as the committee of Bangladesh Lawyers' Rights Council by Nurul Haque Noor.
