Photo: Collected. Dr. Additional Director General (Planning) of the Department of Health said that an operation will be conducted soon against the illegal and unregistered hospital-clinic-diagnostic centers in the country. Ahmedul Kabir.
He gave this information in response to the questions of journalists regarding the closure of United Medical College Hospital and unregistered hospitals at the secretariat on Tuesday. Dr. Ahmedul Kabir said, "At present, the surveillance of the Directorate is still on, it will be made more dynamic."
The Additional Director General of the Department of Health said, "There are 9,000 diagnostic centers and 8,000 hospitals in the country." When I was Additional Director General (Administration), this was the account. It has been a year since I moved to the planning branch. As a result, it is difficult for me to give exact information at the moment. Although currently I am performing both duties. As a result, I will sit with the director general and take the initiative to speed up the work I was doing a year ago.
He also said, 'In the past we have conducted a crush campaign across the country. Those who were not registered have been registered. We have their information. Registration is an ongoing process. Our people see where there are unregistered hospitals. Whenever we get information, we try to stop it.'
Ahmedul Kabir said, 'The whole country is a big place. How many incidents happen across the country that even the law enforcement agencies don't know about. It is known after a sabotage. That is, it is not possible to carry out round-the-clock surveillance. In the case of such hospitals, it is difficult to say that nothing is happening outside of round-the-clock monitoring. However, we have asked to carry out surveillance again across the country. Our ongoing campaign will be made more active.”
When asked about the closure of United Medical Hospital, the Additional Director General of the Department of Health said, "They were running it under the name of United Health Service. According to them, it is a misunderstanding. But that's not the case. To operate any hospital, registration with the Department of Health is required. There is no opportunity to run in the name of health service. We have immediately taken action against the hospital.
In response to the question whether concessions are being given or not, he said, "There is no opportunity or opportunity to give concessions to big companies." No matter big or small. This is a question of morality.
