The bus overturned on the Hanif flyover

Photo: Collected. A bus of Ekushey Paribahan overturned after hitting the infrastructure of the Sayedabad Toll Plaza of the capital's Mayor Hanif flyover. This incident happened on Saturday afternoon. Later the bus was repaired and taken to the bus terminal.

It is known that the bus named Ekushey Paribahan failed to brake and hit the infrastructure of the toll plaza. At one point the bus overturned.

An employee of Ekushe Paribahan said that there were no passengers on the bus. Shortly before 2 pm, the bus was being taken from a garage in Shanirakhra to the bus terminal after repairs. As the bus neared the Sayedabad toll plaza, the bus failed its brakes and hit the toll plaza infrastructure. At one stage the bus overturned. The bus driver was severely injured. He was later taken to hospital.

According to Toll Plaza sources, one of the four lanes of the toll plaza was closed due to the accident. Vehicles continue to cross through the remaining three lanes. After more than 2 hours of effort, the bus was removed from the accident site by wreckers around 4 pm.
