Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered the leaders and activists not to hold a victory procession after the announcement of the results of the 12th National Assembly elections. Besides, he gave organizational instructions not to engage in violence or self-conflict with other candidates and their workers-supporters.
Obaidul Quader, General Secretary of the party and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges informed about this instruction in a briefing at the Dhaka District Awami League office in Tejgaon on Sunday (January 7) evening.
He said that despite being the head of the government, acceptable voting can be done under the independent and impartial Election Commission (EC). Sheikh Hasina has already proved it. All day everyone witnessed it. He has set a unique example with all-out collaboration, facilitation, and cooperation. Thank you for that.
Kader said, according to the information available so far; Awami League candidates have won most of the constituencies with huge votes. Elections were held in a free, fair, and peaceful environment after overcoming many hurdles. We are grateful to everyone for that.
