Additional DIG Mashiur remanded for 7 days

The court has granted seven-day remand of additional DIG Moshiur Rahman in the Abdul Wadud murder case in Newmarket police station area of ​​the capital.

The order was passed by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court after a hearing on Friday afternoon.

Earlier, the police presented him in court and applied for a 10-day remand. After the hearing, the judge granted his seven-day remand.

Earlier, Moshiur Rahman was arrested by Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) on Thursday (September 19) night. According to the police, Moshiur Rahman has been arrested in a case of the capital's Newmarket police station. There are a total of 8 murder cases against him in different police stations of the capital.

Arrested Moshiur Rahman was working in DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police for a long time. He was the last Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Lalbagh Zone. Later promoted to the post of Additional DIG.

The discussed DB officer Moshiur received the Rashtrapati Police Medal (PPM) in 2013, Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) in 2015 and Bangladesh Police Medal in 2019. He has been awarded 'IGP Exemplary Good Services Batch' four times due to his performance. He also received Shuddhachar Award for the year 2022-23 on June 29.
