1721 people died of dengue in one year: Health Minister in Parliament

The Health Minister said that 1 thousand 721 people died due to dengue in the last one year. Samant Lal Sen. M. in the question and answer of the national parliament on Tuesday. The minister gave this information in response to Abdul Latif's question.

He said pre-season, season, and post-season surveys of Aedes mosquitoes are ongoing in Dhaka city. The results of the survey are being communicated to all concerned city corporations. Pre-season survey completed in 2023, survey results sent to all concerned city corporations. Pre-season survey has also been completed in Gazipur and Narayanganj. At present, the season survey is going on across the country.

The health minister said, 'Aedes mosquito survey activities have been completed in 2022 and 2023 in different districts of the country such as Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Chandpur, Madaripur, Barguna, Pabna-Ruppur, Rajshahi, Barisal, Khulna, Jessore etc. The results of the survey are regularly provided to the respective city corporations. Besides, the Aedes mosquito survey program is being completed every two months at Shahjalal International Airport.
