Within a month of assuming responsibility, 198 very important matters have been decided in various ministries and departments, said the chief advisor of the interim government. Muhammad Yunus.
He said this in his address to the nation at 7:30 pm on Wednesday.
The Chief Adviser also said, "Even though the office activities were started with very less manpower, the various proposals sent from various ministries and departments were decided at a fast speed and in accordance with all the legal obligations. In the last one month, various ministries and departments have taken decisions on 198 very important issues. 135 Additional Secretaries, 227 Joint Secretaries and 120 Deputy Secretaries of Public Administration have been promoted.”
He further said, “So far 59 district commissioners have been withdrawn and new 59 district commissioners have been appointed. Contractual appointment of 67 officers has been cancelled. 10 Joint Secretaries, 8 Additional Secretaries and 6 Secretaries have been made OSD. 110 people including 80 DIGs, 30 Superintendents of Police of Bangladesh Police have been promoted. One DIG, one Additional DIG and four Superintendents of Police have been reinstated. A total of 297 officials including IGP, 10 Additional IGs, 88 DIGs, 21 Additional DIGs and 177 Superintendents of Police have been transferred.”
