A Bangladeshi youth was killed in BSF firing at Chinakandi border area of Bishwambharpur in Sunamganj. The deceased was identified as Md. Saidul Islam, son of Joynal Abedin, a resident of Gamatola Khaspara East area of Dhanpur union of the upazila. He was killed at 6:30 pm on Wednesday.
Sunamganj Battalion (28 BGB) said that the Bangladeshi youth entered the border pillar 1209/MP, which is responsible for the Mashimpur BOP and the opponent 193 BSF Battalion's Karaigarh camp. At that time, a patrol team of 193 Battalion BSF shot him.
According to local sources, the deceased Md. Saidul Islam (24) was shot in the evening. When the injured Saidul was taken to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Doctor Shafiqur Islam of the emergency department of Sunamganj Sadar Hospital said that the deceased was shot twice in the chest and stomach. After the autopsy, it will be known what type of bullet hit the body.
