Resisting BSF at three borders

Recently, tension has flared up at the India-Bangladesh border. This tension has spread over the violation of the zero line by the Indian border guard Border Security Force-BSF in Chapainawabganj, Naogaon and Lalmonirhat.

In Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat district of the country's northern district, the BSF installed iron electric poles and electrical equipment within the zero line of the border in the dark of night, violating the international border law. Lieutenant Colonel Sheikh Muhammad Musahid Masum, commander of the Rangpur 61 Battalion (Tista-2) of Border Guard Bangladesh-BGB, informed this information to Amar Desh on Thursday.

In this regard, a letter was sent to the BSF by the BGB inviting a flag meeting. In view of the letter, a flag meeting was held between the two sides at the border point on Wednesday evening.

Lieutenant Colonel Musahid Masum said, BSF has informed that various types of damage has been caused to their tea gardens, for which they installed machines and poles. We have clearly stated that there is no scope for installing anything within the zero line as per international law and agreements.

When BSF was asked to remove their electric poles and electric machines, the BSF removed them.
