Chittagong-16: Boat candidate Mustafizur's candidature is cancelled

Photo: Collected. The Election Commission (EC) has canceled the candidature of current Member of Parliament Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury, the candidate for Chittagong-16 (Banshkhali) Constituency for violating the Code of Conduct.

15 minutes before the end of voting for the 12th parliamentary elections on Sunday, EC Secretary Jahangir Alam informed this information in Bifring.

EC Secretary said that he had threatened the law and order forces.

The Secretary of the Election Commission said in the briefing that he violated the code of conduct, threatened the law and order forces, and assaulted them. Taking all the considerations into consideration, the Commission has canceled his candidature.
