I found the North Korea model here: British observer Jage Coulson

Photo: Collected. Jez Coulson, a British observer who came to observe the 12th National Parliament election at the invitation and management of the government, commented that there is a North Korean model democratic system in Bangladesh. Referring to himself as an observer, he said, "I found the North Korea model here." He made this comment in an interview with Bangla Outlook at Dhaka Reporters Unity Square on Sunday afternoon.

He said I have come to Bangladesh for the first time to observe the national elections. I visited 8 polling stations in the capital Dhaka all day. lots of people A reckless movement of youth around the center. They found me in many places and surrounded me. I asked them to know whether you are a voter or not? Where is the voter identification mark in your hand? They couldn't show me that sign. Many people but very few of them are voters.

Judge Coulson also said that Bangladeshi people are very hospitable and they tried to entertain me but I said I came to watch the vote. I'm doing my job.

I saw many children voting here for the first time in their lives. This is very interesting. A long line of 'I found Hiya' but minimum voters. I think this may be a one-party election. No opposition. I do not find any competition here. But the ruling party leaders and supporters were very active.”

He also told Bangla Outlook that I have not found those who boycotted voting anywhere. I did not see voters being blocked in any center.

I heard Russia and China support this election. I don't see any democracy here.

From the number of centers I visited throughout the day, I think 6 to 8 percent of the votes were cast. There is no room for more. I did not get that much voter participation.
