Barapukuria thermal power station in production again

Unit No. 1 of Barapukuria thermal power plant with a capacity of 125 MW, located at Parvatipur, Dinajpur, has returned to production after a week of shutdown. The electricity generated by that unit is being added to the national grade from 9 pm on Thursday night.

It is learned that the thermal power plant authorities started the operation of the unit experimentally in the afternoon after a few days of efforts. At 8:32 PM, the first stage of 5 MW power generation from that unit started to be connected to the national grade. The generated electricity is expected to increase to 60 MW within the night.

Chief Engineer of Barapukuria Thermal Power Station. Abu Bakr Siddique told the media that the unit has been launched ahead of schedule. Earlier, on September 6, 70 MW of electricity was generated in Unit No. 1 of Barapukuria thermal power plant at 9:30 pm.
