Improvement in flood situation in Feni

The flood situation in Feni is improving a lot. Millions of people are still stuck in water. However, the water is slowly coming down from the flooded areas. Those who left their homes during the floods have started returning home.

The people returning home said that the floods have destroyed everything they had arranged in their homes. None of the houses currently have usable furniture and electronics. No more house plasters can be used.

Madhupur of the city is still under water. People of different villages of Motbi, Sharshdi, Dhalia, Panchgachia, Fazilpur, Dharmapur and Farhad Nagar of Sadar Upazila are still under water. People of several unions including Purvachandrapur in Daganbhuyan have not yet been freed from waterlogging. Lower areas of other upazilas are still under water.

Deputy Commissioner of Feni Mushammat Shahina Akhtar said that 23 dead bodies were found in different parts of the district due to flood. They died at various times during the flood. About 1 million people of the district have been affected by the flood.
