He said these things in his address as the chief guest at the condolence meeting for the families of the four people killed in the anti-discrimination movement organized at Bhagirathpur Eidgah Maidan in Meherpara Union of Narsingdi on Saturday afternoon.
He also said that reforms are an ongoing process and the government should take as much time as necessary for a fair election. He urged everyone to be patient till the time of handover to a government elected by the people.
Meherpara Union BNP President Abdur Rashid presided over the prayer meeting and discussion meeting, Palash Upazila BNP President Bir Muktijoddha Erfan Ali, Meherpara Union BNP General Secretary VP Monir, District Juba Dal Senior Vice President Shahen Shah Shanus and leaders of BNP and allied organizations spoke.
At the end of the meeting, prayers were offered for those injured and killed in the anti-discrimination movement. Besides, the family of the deceased Ariful Islam Rabbi, Abdur Rahman, Arman Mollah and Nahid were given financial assistance by the party.
