Poet, essayist and political commentator Farhad Mazhar has given two roadmaps to the interim government regarding the elections.
He said, two elections will be held in the coming days. One is the Constituent Assembly election. Where we can form new states. Another is the government election. Before the state formation election. Then comes the government election. This roadmap is given to you by the people. If this roadmap is not followed then I will be in dire danger.
He gave these two roadmaps in his speech as the chief guest at the seminar titled 'New Bangladesh: Establishing a non-discriminatory welfare state' organized by Professor K Ali Foundation at Maulana Akram Khan Hall of the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday.
At that time, Farhad Mazhar said, 'The state cannot be formed without the people. It is our moral duty to sustain this interim government. The movement is going on at different levels of different states including the administration. These should be brought under control and reformed at all levels of the state.
He said, 'Whenever we think of state formation, we also think of political parties. We need political parties. We cannot do without political parties. But the political parties want, he will go to power and loot for 15 years. This is not the work of political parties. Political parties need to give a constructive proposal that we will shape Bangladesh beautifully in the coming days. But they are not giving any recommendations.
Farhad Mazhar said, "There has been such a big coup today. We gave so much blood. But at the end of the day we got Sheikh Hasina's constitution. Is that what we want? How does this constitution still exist? Those selected as advisers are essentially advisers to the President. And this president has been appointed by Sheikh Hasina. He was recruited by a fascist. Advisers said while taking oath that we will preserve the constitution. But this constitution is Sheikh Hasina's constitution. This constitution was not supposed to exist. This constitution should have been thrown away.
Professor Dr. Sheikh Akram Ali chaired the seminar and the main article was presented by Professor of Social Welfare and Research Institute of Dhaka University. Md. Nurul Islam
