Indian police have arrested 17 Bangladeshis in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Police's Anti-Terrorism Cell (ATC) arrested them.
Various media outlets have reported a tough operation against Bangladeshis in India. The operation is being carried out in various areas of the country, including West Bengal, Assam, and Kerala.
Quoting Maharashtra Police, a report in Anandabazar Patrika said that raids have been carried out in various areas of Mumbai, Thane, and Nashik since Wednesday. During this, Maharashtra Police arrested 14 men and three women. Aadhaar cards and PAN cards were found with them. The police say they are fake.
Indian news agency PTI reported that all those arrested had entered India without valid documents. Cases have been filed against all those arrested under various sections of the Entry into India Act and the Passport Act.
