Razakar list missing from ministry

The Razakar list is not available in the Liberation War Affairs Ministry. After it was removed from the ministry's website, the original document has also disappeared from the ministry. Ministry officials and employees are blaming former minister AKM Mozammel Haque for removing the controversial list of Razakars.

An administrative official of the ministry said that the government was under great pressure on Mozammel Haque because the names of many Awami League leaders, including former Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal formed to try Razakars and war criminals, Advocate Golam Arif Tipu and former Awami League MP Abdul Latif Mirza, were on the list.

Golam Arif Tipu had also applied separately to the Law Ministry, Home Ministry and Liberation War Affairs Ministry to remove his name from the list. Ministry officials said that the previous government had made the entire list disappear.

What the advisor said about the disappearance of the Razakar list

After the fall of the Awami League government and Sheikh Hasina's escape on August 5, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque also fled. After that, officials are no longer able to find the Razakar list in the ministry.

My country wanted to know about the disappearance of the list from the ministry from the advisor of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Faruk-e-Azam. In response to my country's question at a recent press conference organized by the ministry, the advisor said, "I have not found any trace of this list since I came to this ministry. The list is not even on the website. If we get it, maybe we could know whose name is on it."

In response to my country's question whether a new list will be made, the advisor said, "Look, more than 50 years have passed since the great Liberation War. In this situation, making such a list again is very difficult and time-consuming. We have to move forward by considering everything." Regarding the disappearance of the Razakar list, Israt Jahan, Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, told my country, "I have come to know that such a list was made. However, it is not on our ministry's website now. After taking charge as the secretary of the ministry, I have not found any trace of any such document."
