Coastal police of the country have arrested 11 Bangladeshis including women and children from the Indian part of the Sundarbans. It has been reported that the arrested are workers of Awami League.
The arrested persons were produced in the Alipur court on Saturday. The court later sent four men to police custody, four women to jail custody, and three children to the custody of the Child Welfare Committee.

According to the report, yesterday afternoon they were hiding in the Jhila forest of Sundarbans. During the patrolling in the area, the forest personnel started questioning them all. After that information was given to Sundarban Coastal Police Station.
Police said they were arrested for not having valid Indian identity cards. Their home is in Koira Thana area of Khulna district of Bangladesh. They complained that they were being tortured continuously in the situation that arose in Bangladesh. Due to this, he crossed the Bangladesh waters and entered the Indian territory along with the children. On Thursday night, they crossed the Indian waters and entered the Sundarbans by holding the hand of the broker in exchange for 45 thousand rupees. The Bangladeshi broker escaped by dropping them in the Sundarbans forest on Friday morning.
Arrested Subrata Mandal said, 'It was said that a broker from this country would take us to Keshtapur in Kolkata. But as he did not come, we sat on the edge of the forest. Then the people of the forest department caught us and brought us to the police station.
Jones Justin, deputy field director of the Sundarban Tiger Project, said, "Forest personnel during patrolling saw many people together towards the forest. Being suspicious, questioned. It can be understood that they are from Bangladesh. After that, everyone was given to the police.
Canning SDPO Ram Mondal said, "11 Bangladeshis have been arrested. Among them is a man. He has been requested to be remanded in police custody for seven days for questioning. Besides, we are tightening the vigilance, so that intruders cannot enter the area in any way.
