Donald Lu is coming to Dhaka after his visit to Delhi

A high-level delegation headed by Brent Neiman, Assistant Undersecretary of the US Treasury Department, is coming to Dhaka tomorrow, Saturday. Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia of the US Department of State, Donald Lu, is with them. But he will not come directly from Washington.

Lu will come to Dhaka after completing his visit to Delhi.

In addition to the bilateral issues of the United States and India, Bangladesh will also be discussed in Delhi.

Foreign Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin told reporters on Thursday, "After the interim government took over, the US delegation is coming to Dhaka. This is a great reflection of the importance that the United States attaches to the relationship with Bangladesh. Their discussion with us will be multidimensional.

It will not be limited to just one subject. That is how we are preparing from our side.

When asked about the issues that will be important in the agenda, the foreign secretary said, "We will talk about issues related to our interests and there will be multi-dimensionality in it." But I don't want to influence the discussion by revealing any specific agenda items before the discussion or before the delegation is seated.

According to diplomatic sources, after the political change in Dhaka on August 5, the United States has given importance to relations with Bangladesh. Washington will want to know the needs of Bangladesh to overcome the current crisis. At the same time, there will be a discussion on how to cooperate in the future.
